We are so glad we chose the small-group tour! with Viator. Our tour guide, Jenn, was such a delight! She made the time there so much more than just about the sights we were seeing. She made the spirit behind the Statue of Liberty and the experiences of immigrants something we could relate to, helping us see how we fit into this incredible story of our nation. It made made me proud and was one of the highlights of our time in NYC.

I give the tour leader Mark a 10 -- the ferry boats a 10 -- The S. of Liberty a 10, Ellis Island an 8. Ellis Island needed more history not just open rooms but a feel for how and why our families gave up everything to come here and the reality of the process once they got here.

We had an amazing tour with Mark. He is very entertaining and very knowledgeable. We usually do not like group tours, but this one was great! Kept us moving and interested in everything. My mother came through Ellis Island when she was 10 years old in 1948 and although she told me about her trip and how she came on an apple boat and it took weeks to get here etc, it became real when Mark explained what they had to go through and how they were treated. It was a very emotional day for me, but I really appreciated him and how he explained everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would request him to be our tour guide in the future!

Was great to see the Statue of Liberty. The history of it was interesting. Tour guide Jason was very informative and kept the tour running along smoothly. Ellis Island was good. You need to spend some time here as there is a lot to take in. The tour guide of Ellis Island was quick and then you need time to go through and explore. Overall a great day.

Ran on time and our tour guide Ben Graney was excellent. His knowledge and information was so good and he was easy to keep up with. Looked after us all even down to lying on the ground to take a perfect shot in front of Lady Liberty with our own cameras. All in all it was a great tour covering Statue and Ellis Island and certainly well worth the money.

The tour started more than 45 minutes late because of half of the people that were late - we were there 15 minutes beforehand as the tour description stated otherwise you MISS your tour. Because of this the ferry lines were so crowded - and we stood for ages in lines - no early access or skip-the-line- I could have done this tour on my own - at Ellis Island we stood for 45 minutes to board the ferry back to Battery Park - you've got NO priviliges taking this tour and the main problem was because it started late- not fair to those that are in time for the beginning of the tour. Our group was definately not small - we struggled to look for our tour guard the whole time between the crowds.

The trip to Liberty Island and Ellis Island was very rewarding. The guide gave a really great insight into the “unknown” stories and backed up the Ellis Island visit with a lot of good background information. Especially The Statue of Liberty is a must see. Beautiful experience!

Our small-group guide was Eddie and we could not recommend him more. I had been to both Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty before, but I learned so much more during this tour. He gave us time to adventure on our own and he led us through a very informative tour. Overall, it lasted 4-5 hours. Highly recommend!

An informative, well-paced, and enjoyable visit to two iconic sites. Tim did a great job of guiding the group, sharing with everyone range of tidbits and nuggets of information that broadened our understanding of the history and lasting importance of both sites. He also did a great job fielding all sorts of questions from the youngest ones in the group, truly listening and respectfully taking the questions as serious inquiries from these young minds, rather than distractions. He also did a wonderful job to anticipate needs or wishes of participants, for example making sure everyone was able to get their photos (including a few that he took for us) in front of most notable stops along the way. A very inclusive tour and experience. Highly recommend the tour and Tim!

Amazing tour. The guide, John, was very knowledgeable about the Statue and Ellis Island. The tour and information about Ellis Island will surprise you! There is so much information about Ellis Island that we did not know about. John educated us on this. Highly recommend this tour! The whole tour was organized very well!

This tour had the best reviews and highest ratings in Viator, hence we went ahead and booked this tour. We weren't disappointed. The tour operator was very organised, structured and had planned the trip very well. After we arrived at Battery Park at 8:15am, we were assigned our tour guide to form a smaller and more manageable group of around 30-ish people. Our tour guide was Jess (Jessica Saul) and she was brilliant! We were lucky to have her as our guide for the day. She was extremely knowledgeable on the history of Statue of Liberty, the Liberty island and Ellis Island and all the early immigration history. We were amazed on how she held her energy levels throughout the tour right till the end! Jess gave us a lot of information and the history behind the Statue and the Ellis island, that helped us maximize the the places to visit in that short time. On hind sight, I have two improvement suggestions. We felt (I checked with the others in our tour group) that we were a bit rushed on the Liberty Island where we visited 3 things - the statue, the pedestal and the museum. We felt we were short by 30-45 mins and that's why we couldn't see the museum in more detail. And in the end when we found out that the tour agency drops us in Ellis island and let's us do Ellis Island at our own pace, I felt it would have been okay if we had got that 30 extra mins in Liberty Island. The second suggestion - Jess briefed us a couple of times on the vessel regarding the history of the place we were going to visit. The briefing happened in places where the crowd was less (mostly below the top level opf the vessel) so that we can hear her properly. That was a good thought. Unfortunately while we were getting briefed, all good seats in the boat were being taken up by the other people who were boarding the vessel but not part of our group. Maybe its a better strategy to first secure the right seating for the group and then explain the history and everything else. Overall, we had a great time in this tour, and we would highly recommend this tour company and Jess as the tour guide for visiting Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

Thoroughly enjoyed our day visiting Liberty and Ellis Island and a lot of that sense of enjoyment was down to our guide, Jessica who was very informative and had an excellent appreciation for our group dynamics. She made it fun for us and at the same was always approachable for questions and answers. Overall she wanted to make sure it was a special day for us...well done Jessica and good luck in the future.

I took this tour with my adult son - first time in NYC for both of us. Our guide, Cody, was an animated speaker and a wealth of information. The new Liberty museum is very interesting, and touring Ellis Island really gives one a feeling for the experiences of U.S. immigrants.

Our tour guide Rachel was excellent, very entertaining to listen to! Very knowledgeable, informative and extremely passionate about people's heritage. Rachel gave a real sense of what it would have been like for the immigrants to come through Ellis Island. Loved how she shared stories from previous tour groups and got us to talk about any family that had come through here - fascinating to hear about! You walk about at a gentle pace and there is plenty of time afterwards to explore Ellis Island for yourself, you can decide which ferry to bring you back.

We used Viator on July 5th to tour The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Evan the tour guide was FANTASTIC. He was so knowledgeable, kind, knew the names of our group members about 20 instantly and made sure we didn't get lost! We were a group of 6 - and could not have had this experience on our own. It was so memorable - we even looked up family in the Ellis Island registry. So wonderful and all made possible and easy by Viator and Evan our guide. We also used Viator in Paris at the Eiffel Tower - it was perfect and so simple. There may be a small fee involved but it's worth every cent and more... Thank you so much for the memories of a lifetime. Joann R

Fantastic! You can buy your own tickets for the statue and Ellis Island, but honestly, it s so much better having a guided tour. Our guide Evan was fantastic, he was very knowledgeable about the sites and brought the history to life with his lively delivery. Highly recommended.
