Etwa eine 1,5 Stunden von der Stadt New Orleans entfernt, ist Oak Alley eine der schönsten Plantagen-Touren wegen der 28 gleichmäßigen riesigen Eichen, die von der Flussstraße bis zum Plantagenhaus gehen. 1837 mithilfe neoklassischer Architektur erbaut und im Jahr 1925 restauriert könnte dieses Haus direkt aus dem Film „Vom Winde verweht“ stammen. Zusätzlich zur antiken Bauernausrüstung verfügt das der 10 Hektar große Gelände auch über ein Restaurant, eine Schmiede und einen Souvenirladen, wo Sie einige Zeit zur freien Verfügung haben. Es gibt ein umfassendes Plantagen-Erlebnis. Die Tour im Oak Alley House wird von Tourleitern in authentischer Plantagen-Bekleidung durchgeführt. Laufen ist für diese Tour erforderlich. Die Entfernung vom Plantation House zum Restaurant und Souvenirladen ist etwa ein Häuserblock. Es gibt Bänke auf dem Weg im Schatten von Eichen.

Wonderful tour of the house. Local tour bus company a little clunky in scheduling the return trip as we had to go far out of the way to drop off another tour
The place was beautiful
This tour was one of the highlights of our holiday. We booked this tour with a hotel pickup which was on time. Our driver was extremely friendly and gave us some useful information, facts and jokes on our ride. The plantation is as beautiful as the pictures describe. Coming from the Caribbean where we have plantations and sugar cane it was interesting to see the similar processes and tools used during the making of sugar. A very rewarding experience.
We had a great day at Oak Alley.Pick-up was at our hotel.The bus driver made the trip shorter with his humor.The estate is very beautiful and the tour of the house was very interesting because the docent was very knowledgeable of the house and it's period.Great tour!!
A visit to Oak Alley is better done by car. We spent more time getting there and back than we had on site. That's not to take away from Oak Alley. The tour of of the home is outstanding. However, there was not sufficient time to have lunch in the restaurant or tour the remainder of the grounds. I will need to go back a second time just to see the rest of the plantation.
