I booked the drum lesson a few months prior to my trip to Japan which was in June 2017 with my ten year old son. Once I arrived, I found out that my cousin was in Kyoto and had the same vacation idea as I did. I invited him and his son to our lesson thinking to bow out and let the boys have the drum lesson together. When I arrived to the drum lesson, my big mistake of not knowing what day of the week it was was pointed out to me. I arrived on Tuesday thinking it was Monday, the correct day of the lesson!!!! The manager of the Taiko studio was more than gracious and not only honored my purchase but allowed both my cousin and his son join our lesson!!! We ended up getting a taiko student who was not expecting us for a lesson, but we would have never noticed the difference. He was amazing and at the end of our drum lesson we had an impromptu concert with him and his teacher. A wonderful experience that neither my son nor I will forget!

To be honest I thought this would be a bit of lightweight fun for an hour. Wrong! Try Major heavyweight fun!! The location was easy to find via there map on the web site God bless them! 206 bus from A3 stop and Kyoto, literally a few doors from Omiya Matsubura stop. We got straight in to some basic stretches, easy drum patterns, which formed a song. The adrenaline kicked in before long and we were hammering away and having a great time and quite a workout. Our instructor was great fun and a great teacher and allowed us to video our performances and we all finished very sweaty and happy. Recommend casual clothes, break a sweat! awesome fun for anyone!
