Although we knew a little about the history surrounding our visit, nothing would prepair us for what we would learn form our brilliant guide. From the pick up to the lunch our great driver and drop off, everything about the day was fault free we thank you for making what was a special and thoughtful day go without any problems. This is the second time we have used viator and would not hesitate to use the in the future.

Great time saving tour. It is not super in depth, but it hits all the highlights, and if you're short on time, that's all you can ask for.

The day trip to both venues was very well organised, communication great with regard to pick up times . Visited saltmines first , guide very knowledgeable ,well worth a visit, some stunning sights , however lots of walking and steps (there is a lift for less able) Took a break for lunch which was provided then off to Auschwitz-Birkenau . Whilst on the bus we watched a documentary which gave background. The tour guide Sebastian was extremely knowledgeable having met survivors . The tour was very moving but is a must see. Long day but excellent and would recommend.

I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Krakow. Be warned it's an early start and a long day, but it's totally worth it! Couldn't fault it from start to finish (apart from the weather, but you win some you lose some). Driver was excellent and was very knowledgeable about Krakow city, as well as the tour destinations. Great to be picked up and dropped off at our AirBnB and I liked the little touches such as the documentary on the coach and lunch. It's the details that make this tour stand out.

The day started when we were picked up at 6.10am. When we arrived at Auschwitz, we were allowed 10 minutes to buy a snack for breakfast and eat it !! There was not even enough time to buy anything. The trip around Auschwitz and Birkenau was great, althought there was a lot of wallkingh and the day was hot. The guide was very good. At the conclusion of the Prison camp tour, we were given a packed lunch ( which was not great) and allowed only 15 minutes to eat it before setting off to go to ther Salt Mine. After walking all aroung the camp everyone needed more rest and more time to relax and eat their meal than this !! Arriving at the Salt Mine, we were given 10 minutes toilet break then taken on the tour, walking down vast numbers of steps to get down into the mine...no lift "!! At the end of the tour we were again given 15 minutes to buy and consume refreshments, then on to the coach, returning to Krackow about 5.30pmThis was a very exhausting trip even for the younger members of the group, let alone myself and my travelling companion who are 78 and 79 years old respectively. I DO NOT THINK THESE TRIPS SHOULD BE COMBINED. They are far too rushed. I expected at least a sit down meal at Lunch time and didn't even have time to sit down and eat the packed lunch !! The driver was very good and ebven apologetic about having to rush everything. I think when advertising these trips you should make people aware of the pressure people who go on them are put under to keep up with the frantic pace of the day. It was a great triip....no it was two great trips spoilt by being so frantic .

A trip you must do. The trip to Auschwitz and Birkenhau is quite a somber experience. The Salt mines are terrific. The tour people that took us were both excellent very informative and easy to listen to.

I highly recommend this tour, my husband and I knew the history, but it was a completely different experience being here. It was probably the saddest most depressing thing I have ever seen/done in my life and I would highly recommend it. The salt mines were beautiful and I have never experiences anything like this either! This tour is a must! Our tour guide Michael (Miko) was amazing and answered all of our questions! My only issue was with the lunch, there isn't really a good spot to sit and eat it, we all sat on the ground, I was in a dress... so it was a little more difficult for me. The sandwich was two huge pieces of bread with one slice of tomato and one slice of cheese. They honestly could have tried harder on the lunch. If you change anything, please change the lunch for future guests. Everything else was amazing!!!

Communication was excellent throughout and pick up from our hotel was prompt. The day was very long but we felt we had the right amount of time in each place and having lunch ready and waiting for us made things a lot easier. Would definitely recommend this company!

Pick up was on time but had to keep emailing for days and days to get time of departure but only got later evening before. Driver was little fast driving and TEXTING SO MUCH ON THE WAY HOME. this could be checked easily by checking when he sent text messages at time of driving. He gave out to us that everyone was waiting and we would be late for next part of tour but had said we didn't have to be back for 20 mins...WE WERE BACK IN 15 MINS. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT 2NT PART OF TOUR WE WERE IN PLENTY TIME. he was definitely driving too fast going 2nd part of tour and end of journey but we figured he seemed to have been in a rush somewhere else. Did not feel relaxed or comfortable on the trip, especially homebound . We had other tours we were going to book with viator but didn't and went with another company where the driver introduced himself, shook hands with us etc.

This is a perfect trip if you want to see and understand a bit about Auschwitz/Birkenau- I had studied the war at school and have a good awareness of what happened, so this was ideal for me to put this into perspective. There are some very difficult parts, which the guide deals with extremely sensitively and well. Essentially with this trip, you have a driver for the day and he drops you (and hands you over) to a guide at Auschwitz and the Salt Mines. You are likely to be teamed up with other tours. I didn’t mind at all, the group was not huge and the use of a radio and ear piece helped! I found the level of English to be fantastic and I understood everything. The salt mines were a nice surprise (I was not expecting a lot from a load of salt but actually it was delightful- lightened the mood from earlier in the day)- I was a bit tipsy when I booked this and didn’t realise I went for the salt mine option... Lunch was decent enough- cheese sandwich, pasta salad, biscuit, water, which we got after finishing at Birkenau. Bottom line with this tour- you kinda need to know what happened in terms of the holocaust, it is not for absolute beginners, but if you studied it at school and can remember the main parts, this is an ideal tour.

Everything was very well organized. The tour company contacted us to inform us of pick up time and they were punctual. Both of the tour guides at Auschwitz and the Salt Mine were very knowledgeable and friendly. The day trip is worth the money and time.

Tour was very long. We were out for around 11hrs, which was not good for getting over jetlag. We first went to the salt mine. The tour was great. The guide was very informative and had a deadpan humour that I found very amusing. Lunch was good. After that, we went to Auschwitz. Our guide was good - he gave us a lot of information about the place and was able to answer our questions. Unfortunately, our tour of birkenau was cut short because it was too hot. My only criticism would be the bus - it was really too small and hot.

The driver picked me up right on time from my AirBnB, and as a whole the trip was really efficient. The driver was pretty quiet, but at each of the locations we had guides who were very knowledgable about the salt mines and the camps. The lunch was great- I have a gluten allergy, and they were amazing about accommodating me.

Everything from the vehicles to the schedule was excellent. Lunch was surprisingly good too. But what really made the day were the guides. They were all different characters but the same expertise, relaxed but competent attitude and spot on delivery of information (sombre or funny depending which part of the tour) was top notch. Up there with the best Viators I've been on.

This has to be seen our guide for auschwitz was amazing put his heart Into it told it the way it happened he said how it started with a person's dislike of one race and how it progressed from there. I myself could not have explained it like he did without showing my hatred for these animals that did this. You could see how he felt but he explained it very well which has to be done thankyou.

Before we went to visit this place, we watched the documentary movie Auschwitz released by Netflix. This way, we had a very good understanding on what really happened during that time. It was really heartbreaking when you see the actual place, you can imagine clearly the sufferings of those people. Salt Mine Trip was very interesting., It gave us ideas how salt mining was being conducted centuries ago.

Our driver, Tomas, was great - on time, knowledgable, very funny and conversational. Our tour guide at Auschwitz was a disappointment. She was hard to understand, spoke like reading from a script, and language was not proficient. We would recommend a headset instead, although it must be hard having to be in a place like that day after day, reciting the same stories again and again - they are horrifying. The Salt Mines were needed after the camp and our guide Marek was great. Beautiful things to see and truly inspiring to know everything was done by hand. As others have said, it makes for a long day. But overall, minus the Auschwitz guide, a very good day.

This trip is a good combo to see two attractions close to Krakow. Auschwitz is very historic and it’s sad to see the horrors of the war. Magdalena, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and it was good to see both camps 1 and 2. It is good to see the history preserved and makes you appreciate how lucky we are these days. The Salt mine was awesome attraction too. We spent a good 2 hours exploring the underground caves and chambers and our tour guide Nicholas was very fun and interactive throughout the tour. He made the tour bearable with his fun facts. It was a full in day but lunch were provided and the shuttle was air conditioned so it was good for a hot day like that. Amazing trip!!

A very long and tiring day and some people elected not to go to the Salt Mines as well as Auschwitz. These places are well worth a visit but I believe that if you are not "fighting fit" visiting both on the same day is quite hard work. Loved the Salt Mines and, of course, Auschwitz was quite a harrowing experience.

the trip from start to finish was excellently planned ..our driver Mike was brilliant..a very sad trip at Auschwitz but a must if visiting Krakow...salt mine another excellently planned trip and amazing to see in side...a long day but definitely worth doing both all in one day..lunch provided was fine ..I enjoyed it..and was eaten on the way to salt mines..so saves time hanging about queuing for food ..all in all I would recommend this trip and provider..

This trip is a must for any visitor to Krakow....the drivers and guides are very knowledgeable and present the tour in good English.....the drive to the camps is pleasant with a video to prepare you for the things you are about to see......the scale of the camps was beyond our initial comprehension but the enormity of it all soon hits you......very well presented.....try the trip to the salt mines too...you wont be disappointed....be warned though there are lots if steps down the mine but a lift back up...

Me and 2 friends was picked on time from our hotel, we had to pick 4 other travellers up from two different hotels and then we went strait to Auschwitz in a very smart and clean minibus. Meet with English speaking guide who was very good. After Auschwitz went travelled the short distance to Birkenau and after our visit there we had lunch. We then travelled to the salt mines which well worth it. The day is long but well worth doing.

The driver was on time, friendly and very knowledgeable. Birkenau was closed due to a storm the previous night, the driver tried his best to keep us informed and offered to drive us around the fence so that we could still see the size of the place. Lunch was really nice - much better than what I had expected. The salt mines were amazing and even though our tour guide kept us waiting a little, the driver did his best to ensure that we were kept informed. It was a worthwhile trip and the driver made it very easy and issue free for us.

Auschwitz trip was extremely heartbreaking but the tour guide was brilliant and put the stories across extremely well. Salt Mines were interesting and the tour guide there was also very good however it was quite busy therefore we didn't get the full experience. The lunch was simple as expected, but tasty and filling for the long day. The driver that took us to the locations and picked us up were both very friendly and welcoming. All in all I would recommend this trip if wanting to visit both these attractions in the same day but it is extremely tiring but both must sees in Krakow.

The first part of the day is very informative and upsetting. I wanted to visit as I think everyone should if they are able to, so that we never forget the horror that took place. Glad we'd got this as a package though as the salt mines were a much lighter experience and finishes off the day well! Lunch was nice, its just a packed lunch before leaving Birkenau but there are cafes and book shops for you to look in while having little breaks between trips. Pick up and drop off to our hotel also. There is a lot of walking to do over the course of the day and lots of steps down into the mine but there is an elevator at the end to take you to the surface.

This was after a trip. You get to see two of Krakow’s popular things to do. The trip was in English. You get a good time to take in both of the Auschwitz camps. The first has more things to see and learn about the camp. The second site is more looking at the camp and what remains of it. Lunch was a nice chicken pasta and cheese sandwich with chocolate wafer and water. The salt mine was very interesting. Recommend this trip.
