Rather disappointed. To make the most of our trip we opted for an early start and therefore arrived at the Chernobyl Exclusion zone at 9am. It was then we were told that Solo East had not submitted the paperwork the day before as required for an early start. As a result we had to wait at the gate for 1hour 45 minutes before being allowed to enter. As a result we encountered large tour groups in most locations and our whole tour was fairly rushed and we didn't get to see all the sites listed on the itinerary. We were supposed to be given a Geiger Counter each to use, but that didn't happen. Later in the tour the guide gave us his to use, but it is a shame we weren't given our own Geiger Counters to use as this was supposed to be included. We noticed that several other tour groups where every member of the tour group had their own counter. Lunch was at 3pm at the end of the tour before the drive back to Kiev which was extremely late considering we started the tour at 7am. Our guide was knowledgable and the tour was still very interesting, but we felt that the individual tour provided very poor value for money due to the administration mistakes made by Solo East. Whilst we queued for 1hour 45 minutes to get into the Chernobyl Site we saw the many other tour operators arrive, so there is clearly lots of choice. As a result we recommend you do the tour but use a different tour operator.

Our private tour guide was exceptional. Very knowledgeable. Did not rush us through the tour. Great experience.
