The initial fortifications, which were built in the late 16th century, were quite basic. According to a statement by UNESCO, the site was recognized as a World Heritage Site for its unique exposition of an urban ensemble which illustrates the interaction of European architecture and South Asian traditions from the 16th to the 19th centuries which is the criterion number four for such recognition.

Welcome to Sea Turtle Hatchery - Mahamodara. We rescue turtles who are in danger of loosing their lives to the fishing industry whether they are caught in nets or hunted for meat. We currently have 40 turtles, including 4 types of turtle. All are welcome to come and visit to see and learn about Tara turtles here in Sri Lanka.

Pass By: Old Parliament Building, Fort, Colombo Sri Lanka

This Neo-Baroque-style building was built during the British colonial era to house the Legislative Council of Ceylon. It was built on an idea of Sir Henry McCallum, which led to a proposal made by a committee to construct the new building for the Secretariat, Council Chamber and Government offices on reclaimed land at the northern end of Galle Face’ were accepted by the Government in 1920.

Premadasa Stadium is a cricket stadium situated on Khettarama Road, Maligawatta, Colombo, Sri Lanka. During games, large crowds of local fans fill up the lower seats who’ll scream and cheer without any extortions to “make some noise.” The best seats available are in the Grandstand, which is less congested and offers a great view of the giant scoreboard. There are plenty of food stalls at the stadium, including KFC, Pizza Hut, Lays potato chips, as well as local vendors selling hot dogs, pineapple, chocolates, and many other snacks.
