Sie werden am Morgen von Ihrer zentral gelegenen Unterkunft in Auckland durch Ihren Reiseleiter in einem komfortablen Fahrzeug abgeholt. Den genauen Abholzeitpunkt erfahren Sie bei der Buchung. Von der Stadt ist es nur eine 30-minütige Fahrt bis zum Waitakere Ranges Regional Park.

Der erste Halt ist das Besucherzentrum Arataki, wo Sie einen spektakulären Blick auf Auckland und zwei Häfen haben. Sie haben die Möglichkeit, mehr über die Schnitzereien und Traditionen der Maori zu erfahren. Sie sehen in diesem in die Waitakere Ranges eingebetteten, bezaubernden Museum die einheimische Natur und Tiere, wie z. B. den Kauribaum und die Weta.

Dann tauchen Sie tiefer in das üppige Buschland Neuseelands, wo ein relativ einfacher Spaziergang Sie zu einem der mehrstufigen Piha-Wasserfälle bringt. Sie können einheimische Tierarten sehen, wie z. B. den Langflossenaal und den Keruru und haben Zeit, um die atemberaubenden Wunder der spektakulären Landschaften wahrzunehmen.

Am Vormittag werden Ihnen leichte Erfrischungen zur Verfügung gestellt.

Schließlich haben Sie etwas Zeit zur freien Verfügung für Pihas berühmten schwarzen Sandstrand. Beobachten Sie die Brandung, machen Sie einen Spaziergang auf den berühmten Lion Rock, paddeln Sie in den Untiefen oder fragen Sie Ihren Reiseleiter nach weiteren lokalen Spazierwegen mit einem atemberaubenden Blick auf die Küste.

Während Ihres Aufenthalts in Piha stellen wir auf unsere Kosten ein leckeres und gesundes Mittagessen vor Ort.

Am Nachmittag geht es zurück in den Auckland Central Business District. Sie werden an Ihrer Unterkunft abgesetzt.

Our guide was very personable and informative with a casual individual approach and flexible with options. I would have liked to have taken the more adventurous hike through the forest but as a group it wasn't possible. Overall though it was a great day out! :-)

We had an amazing time with Dave! He arrived to pick us up on time. He kept the drive out to the visitor center interesting with information about where we were going and what was coming up. Facilitated some awesome pictures of the rainforest, the waterfall, and the black sand beach. We were never rushed, he gave us the time to really take in the environment. There was a little rain when we set off from the hotel but it cleared off. Overall, it was a fantastic day! Dave was like a friend who took us around for a day out of the city.

First of all - the amount of people going on our tour consisted of a whole whopping two of us. The fact that the company didn't cancel the excursion because of that is amazing. Dave, our tour guide, was waiting for us in the lobby on time and ready to go. Since it was just my friend and I, Dave allowed us to tailor the day to what best fit our interests. He was very knowledgeable, and had several funny anecdotes about the areas we were visiting. He was also friendly and easy going. Bless his heart, we must have changed the plans on him no less than 5 times, and he happily rolled with the punches each time. We were able to see everything we wanted to, including two truly gorgeous waterfalls, and Dave made it so that we were able to experience the beauty of New Zealand in the way that appealed to us the most. Even if we did have to share this tour with others, the places we visited were stunning, and ended up being some of the top highlights of our trip overall. Great day, impressive scenery and wonderful tour guide.

This was a really good tour, made the better by MIlo. He at no time rushed us along, and kept things going at our pace, not his. That was appreciated. The cultural centre was interesting, and the surf beach fun. But the highlight for us was the opportunity to swim in a waterfall which was only a short stroll from our parking spot. Milo's knowledge, being a local, and story telling added to the day immensely. Would recommend this tour for people of all ages.

Our guide Paul was really friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. Our group was nice and small, only about 7 of us. Piha beach was beautiful and the walks were reasonably easy, even with the need to carry our 2yr old all the way up the cliff. I'd probably wish for a bit more time there, to relax by the beach and enjoy the breeze. Otherwise the duration of the tour was just nice and the views were stunning.
