Der Tag beginnt um 9:00 Uhr mit einer kostenlosen Abholung von Ihrer zentralen Unterkunft . Wir fahren etwa 40 Minuten von der Ctiy in Richtung der West Coast. Wir fahren durch Titirangi in den Ausläufern der Waitakere Ranges, einer Region reich an Kultur und mit zahlreichen Galerien und Cafés im Freien. Titirangi ist ein beliebter Ort für alle Arten von Künstlern.
Dann geht es hinauf auf den treffend benannten Scenic Drive, wo unser erster Halt das Arataki Visitor Center ist. Hoch oben auf dem Bergrücken gibt Aussichtspunkte mit fantastischem Blick auf beide Küsten. Innen gibt es viele interaktive Displays, die Tiere, Pflanzen und das Siedlerleben in den Ranges präsentieren.
Von hier geht es sich in eine unberührte Gegend mit einheimischem Regenwald, in der viele Bäumen über 1000 Jahre alt sind. Wir machen auch einen Spaziergang durch den Busch, eine relativ flache 1,5 km lange Rundstrecke. Sie können auch einfach nur einen Abschnitt des Spaziergangs mitmachen.
Nach dem Morgentee fahren wir weiter an zwei der berühmten West Coast Strände: Piha und Karekare. Obwohl sie direkt nebeneinander an der Küste sind, unterscheiden sie Welten in Punkten Natur und Ambiente. Piha hat faszinierende Aussichten, den berühmten Lion Rock, ist berühmt für seine Surfkultur und das Zuhause vieler Menschen. Karekare, hat im Gegensatz dazu einen anderen Charakter, ist eher bedeckt und einsam in der Natur und nur wenige Menschen leben dort.
Wir machen einen Spaziergang auf beiden Stränden,sehen uns einige wunderschöne Wasserfälle an und spazieren durch einige bezaubernde Pohutakawa-Gebiete.
Karekare ist auch der Ort unseres Barbecue und während der Vorbereitung laufen einige Personen den Strand entlang, während andere lieber am Fluss entspannen. Sie haben die Wahl.
Erfrischt und gestärkt von Ihrem Tag an der frischen Luft bringen wir Sie um 16:30-17:00 Uhr zurück zu Ihrem zentral gelegenen Hotel in der Innenstadt.

Everything went very well. Jus 4 of us on tour which made for a very personalized tour and plenty of opportunity to talk with guide. Tour guide and driver, Brett, was great especially his knowledge of the rainforest fauna. Enjoyed our time and glad we went.

Brett lead a fantastic tour. I got to learn about some of the culture, see some beautiful landscape and walked the beaches and up some different trails. It was a very worthwhile tour. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Brett is very personable.

Brett, set the bar pretty high...what can I say...He has now forever spoiled me for future tours to come. He was prompt picking me up, great conversationalist, warm and friendly, uber knowledgeable about photography, the bush, New Zealand's history, the ocean, wildlife, and the overall geography, and he was very patient. Also there is a lot of diversity you will see on the tour with respect to terrain, so never a dull moment (e.g. beaches, cliffs, wildlife, waterfalls, you name it you will see it). Because it was just him and I on the tour we did a bit of climbing and hiking which was nice to get to see the really great views! However he ensures that he caters the tours for the current client, so if you have arthritis or other ailments he will make modifications to the tour and maybe cutout some of the strenuous climbing. But just being honest, to truly enjoy NZ you need to be in decent shape. There are a lot of mountains, hills, rough terrain, and cliffs, that put a hurting on my thighs. But a much needed one. Moving right along, Brett showed me how to take proper photos, he took plenty of photos of me that I can keep, and I felt like we were on an adventure I didn't want to end. I also loved the restaurant we stopped in.... It was packed with locals and the food was scrumptious. I was sad when it was over but I felt like I got more than my money's worth...I got a real piece of New Zealand that I will always have in my heart.

Brett was a phenomenal tour guide who shared incredible amounts of information about New Zealand and the areas he showed us. Getting away to the west coast of the north island is a must do, and this tour goes to some incredible sights including secluded beaches, waterfalls, and deep forests like no other. Take a camera -- you won't be disappointed!

This was wonderful! We took many beautiful pictures and our tour guide Ilisa was lovely and very knowledgeable about the area. We highly recommended this experience.
